The red carpet will be rolled out at The Civic in time for a one-off screening of Australia’s largest short-film competition - Flickerfest.
Come along for a sweeping, cinematic feast as the most talented filmmakers across the world celebrate 28-years of the competition’s history.
The best short-films have been handpicked from nearly 2,700 entries. Laugh, cry and be transported far beyond Gunnedah as the filmmakers take the audience on a journey.
Gunnedah Shire Council’s Cultural Precinct Team Leader Lauren Mackley said the uniting force among the screenings at the 2019 Flickerfest Festival is the ability to push the conventions of film and narrative to deliver surprising, exciting and ground-breaking pieces across animation, documentary and every genre in between.
“This is a chance to see these amazing short films before they continue their journey across more than 50 Australian venues and then around the world,” Ms Mackley said.
“The best of the Australian, International and Comedy categories will be shown, following the annual 10-day competition in Bondi. The air-conditioning paired with the world-class filmmaking makes for a perfect Sunday afternoon.”
Doors open at The Civic form 2.00pm on Sunday, 17 February 2019. Full session tickets, which include the screening of Best of Australian Short Films and Best of International Short Films, are available for $40.00 or $35.00 concession, while single session tickets are $25.00. FilmTRAC, Gunnedah’s local film enthusiasts group, will also be catering for the afternoon with refreshments available on arrival.
Tickets are available online at www.thecivic.com.au or at the Gunnedah Visitor Information Centre, Chandos Street or Gunnedah Shire Council Administration Building, Elgin Street Gunnedah.
