Fees and Charges

Gunnedah Shire Council is committed to providing clear and transparent information about the fees and charges associated with cemetery services it provides. 

As a Category 2 cemetery operator, Council is required to publish price breakdowns for its Basic Adult Burial and Basic Ash Interment services in accordance with the pricing transparency requirements of the NSW Cemeteries and Crematoria regulatory framework. 

The following price breakdowns have been prepared using the mandatory formats approved by Cemeteries and Crematoria NSW and are provided for the 2026/27 financial year:

These price breakdowns are provided to meet the pricing transparency requirements of Council’s cemetery operator licence and provide a standardised breakdown of the applicable Council charges for Basic Adult Burial and Basic Ash Interment services.  

Other fees and charges

The mandatory price breakdowns provide information about Council’s Basic Adult Burial and Basic Ash Interment services only. Other Council fees and charges may apply depending on the cemetery, type of interment, age of the deceased, timing of the service, and other services or approvals applicable to the interment.
