Local Strategic Planning Statement
The Gunnedah Shire Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) Future 2040(PDF, 6MB) sets out the long-term vision and strategic direction for land use planning across the Gunnedah Shire over the next 20 years. It identifies the community's planning priorities, growth opportunities and key actions to guide sustainable development while protecting the unique character, environment and values of Gunnedah Shire.
Future 2040 is built around four key themes, eleven (11) planning priorities and fifty (50) actions that align local land use planning with the aspirations of the community, the Gunnedah Community Strategi Plan and the New England Northwest Regional Plan. The Local Strategic Planning Statement provides a framework for managing growth, supporting economic development, protecting environmental assets and informing the future evolution of local planning controls.
