Australia Day Awards 2027
Nominations are now open for the 2027 Australia Day Awards.
Gunnedah Shire Council is proud to celebrate the achievements and contributions of its citizens in the past 12 months through the Australia Day Awards. These awards recognise and honour outstanding individuals and groups in the Gunnedah Shire. The Australia Day Awards are significant as they acknowledge the strength, resilience, and capabilities of our community. Let’s celebrate our achievers and volunteers.
Award categories:
- Citizen of the Year (21 and over)
- Young Person Achievement Award (20 and under)
- Ossie & Beryl Campbell Memorial Volunteer of the Year
- Max & Mikie Maas Good Neighbour Award
- Ivan Towns Memorial Award
- Sports Person of the Year (all ages)
- Community Acheivers Award
- Creative Achievement Award
- Rising Star Award (12-24 years)
- Access and Inclusion
- Community Group of the Year
- Community Event of the Year
Nominations close 4pm, Monday, 30 November 2026.
